It’d be nice if supposedly professional shows like this got their basics right. If it came out of a tank it’s a Meteor not a Merlin. Same basic V12 27l platform and a reasonable number of interchangeable parts, but: rotates in the opposite direction, no supercharger, no reduction gear, no inverted-operation fuel and oil system, a lot of the aluminum bits replaced by steel, and only about 1/3 of the hp. But “Spitfire engine” makes a better soundbite.
There have been actual Merlin-engined cars (e.g. https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Media/Home/Reader/final-objective/ ) but this isn’t one of them.
Still an excellent use of 10,000 quid though...
